oh god, I forgot the format for my posts for a sec 😳
I expected this to be a low-effort sort of affair, just like my other non-fanart arts...yet somehow it turned out better than I expected. Maybe it's the blurring effect that's making it look good, or the choice of vivid colors, or the fact that I used tons of layers without intending to? Yeah, it must be the layers.... Or it could be something that's come with practice??? I dunno!!! 🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️🤷🏽♂️ But I do know that I simplified a lot of things, like scribbling little yellow circles for the building windows instead of going out and making precise squares, and not making the most precise shadows.
The idea for this came from seeing a kid asking for a cardboard box at a grocery store. It got me thinking about how creative kids are, and about how I had attempted to make my own house out of a cardboard box as a kid. So, why not draw that?? I also find adventures really interesting—the scene that popped into my mind was of a kid living in a house they've made all their own, braving the worst of a storm that threatens to flood...the road...a little bit? Yeah, very adventurous!
Am I going too far with talking about what I think? Am I thinking too much about children and childhood and stuff like that? Sometimes these sorts of questions pop up in my mind, but I wonder if they deserve an answer. I guess how I feel about what I'm thinking could be a good metric.... But, where is this description going anyway? Am I sounding too romantic and ridiculous?
On a side note, I was looking through my Krita Art folder on my computer, and realizing which artworks got corrupted when the storage ran out. I wonder whether my future potential art website should be a gallery of everything from the past to the future, or if I should just start from where I am right now. I think my older art is important, some of it was pretty nice, I think......
Anyhow, I'm just rambling at this point! I need to go and not disappoint a neighborhood kid now, buh bye 👋🏼👋🏼👋🏼👋🏼👋🏼
